A Day of Frustrations

Spent the day trying to work out the bugs in some of my older programs. Makes me wish I was still using 2kPro. At least I knew how it worked. Well, some I made some progress on and some I didn't. But with the cold front that's coming through, I suspect I'll be trying some more.

Missed A Day, Didn't I ?

Found a book to read and got all wrapped up in it, and forgot all about making my daily entry. Looks like we're in for an all day rain today, so maybe I'll try finishing chapter 3 of Living Aboard.

Sunday Brrrrr

It's a chilling rainy Sunday and I ask myself once again why I didn't head South. Got a feeling this is going to turn out to be a very unproductive day. Might be a good day for some housecleaning. Right now though, I just wish I had an unread book.

More Web Site Add Ons

Didn't know it was going to be such a chore, but I worked up a list of my MP3's to put on the Web Site so people can request songs to be added to the player. Also added a second chapter to Living Aboard early this morning. Don't know if I'll work on chapter 3 tonight, but since the used bookstore is closed until the 27th, I'll have plenty of time to work on it and the other two chapters to follow.

One thing I'm starting to notice is that I'm getting restless. I've been in one place too long and months more to go. Oh well, a man's gotta do, what a man's gotta do.

Play Day

Today was a day to do not much of anything. Read a book, watched a couple of movies and not much else. Certainly nothing worth talking about, so this is just a filler post.

Movin' Along

Started a new page on the web site today on Living Aboard. Considering all the books, articles and other info on the subject, I don't know that I have anything new or "improved" to add, but it does help me discipline myself into keeping things current, and hopefully, of some value.

Stopped in at Wally World to pick up my last check today, and was encouraged to have yet another manager there tell me to reapply in the hopes they'll be allowed to do some hiring come Febuary. I must admit, it's nice to feel your efforts were noticed and appreciated. The work there was not overtaxing and I'm finding I actually miss the 3 mile walk to and from.

Mulling the night away

Sitting here tonight, as Aria strains against her docklines while the wind howls around her, it occurs to me that my voyage is not just through the briny blue, but along the everyday path of living as well. For much of what seems but ordinary to me, and of little consequence, is still part of what charts my course. And the cruising life is not simply balmy beaches, but the reefs and shoals one must find their way through to reach them.

It's not my nature though, to talk about myself. Save through my bumbling attempts at poetry. Or, when talking about not talking about myself. For though I have no lack of self-esteem, I'm not particularly narcissistic. Although, apparently, not above the pompous.

So, we'll see how it goes

Back At It ..... Sorta

Been a while, yeah, a long while. Since I'm out of work for a month (work being the whole point of not being out cruising), I finally redesigned the web site. Nothing all that spectacular, but hopefully, a cleaner, easier to use set up.

'Bout went nutso trying to put an mp3 player onsite, but thanks to sailingdog from Sailnet, I finally got it working. Not sure how much more I'll do with the redesign. I'm too behind the times, web buildingwise, to do much more. I'm checking out some resource pages though and trying to play a bit of catchup.
